Tier 2 - Personhood Whenever
Virgil Goode tries to protect the innocent, but he delays the country's enforcement of the God-given right to life of unborn children by defending abortion regulations that end with words that say, in effect, "and then you can kill the baby."

Virgil Goode, the Constitution Party's 2012 Presidential nominee, served for 12 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, first as a Democrat and later as a Republican. As a member of the Constitution Party, he supports the party's principles, including the following principle:
Life: For all human beings, from conception to natural death. 1
The party platform affirms "the God-given legal personhood of all human beings from fertilization to natural death, without exception." 2
As a member of the U.S. House, Goode voted repeatedly for anti-personhood legislation. Among the anti-personhood votes were the following bills:
- Unborn Victims of Violence Act, Bill HR 1997 3
vote number 2004-31 on Feb. 26, 2004 4 - Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act, Bill HR 748 5
vote number 2005-144 on Apr. 27, 2005 6 - Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act of 2006 Bill HR 6099 7
vote number 2006-526 on Dec. 6, 2006 8
The first of those bills is unprincipled, because it reinforces the so-called "legitimate" intentional killing of unborn children. The other two bills end with words that say, in effect, "and then you can kill the baby."
Goode's 2012 campaign website says regarding the issue of abortion:
In the United States House of Representatives, I had a consistent pro-life voting record and in 2008 the National Right to Life Political Action Committee commended me "for your 100 percent pro-life voting record throughout your twelve years of service in the U.S. House of Representatives". As President I would continue to oppose abortion and would submit a budget to Congress with zero funding for planned parenthood and any other similar entities.
To find out whether Goode still supports anti-personhood legislation that he voted for in Congress, an American Right to Life researcher spoke with him on the phone on November 1, 2012. He promises to support any pro-life legislation that will "reduce" abortions. This includes PBA-type, fetal pain, parental notification, and so forth.
To understand why such legislation is immoral and unconstitutional, see the following web pages:

Summary: Virgil Goode tries to protect the innocent, but he delays the country's enforcement of the God-given right to life of unborn children by defending abortion regulations that end with words that say in effect "and then you can kill the baby" or that reinforce the so-called "legitimate" intentional killing of unborn children.
